Creative Process

Simple Solutions Require Complex Processes.

This is a simple brake down of my process when creating design work.

01

Research

For this part of the process, I needed to know more about the project and what it needed to do before proceeding. I have all the power on this project and that gives me a lot of flexibility to work with which I like. Also, I needed to know what other companies are doing in this field similar field in order to move in the process. So with that, I sit down and did hours of research to collect the information needed to make this project a succeess.

This is one of if not the most important parts of the process. If this doesn't go well then the entire project collapses and nobody wants that.

02

Strategy

My strategy is very simple but very effective. I usually write out what I need to do during each stage when I am in that stage so that I don't overload myself with information and can focus on tasks one at a time and put all my effort into this particler stage of the process.

03

Concept Creation

This section of the process combines what I have searched for and now generating ideas and concepts to begin the creation process. The way I went about this is by creating word association. These types of maps allow me to put my ideas on paper in a simple format. Also, I was able to brainstorm ideas and concepts that could potentially work for the this. Reviewing the research to make sure I hit all the points I need. Lastly, I was able to center the most important details into one small map for me to follow through out this.

Using different ways to create and generate ideas is something I hold to a high stander to make sure I get the most bang for my buck.

04

Sketching

This part of the process is when I am able to draw out ideas for the project. I incorporate all aspects of the process leading up to this. These are just rough sketches of what the client might need and will look like. This also forces me to create as many different styles of the project to get a sense of what works and what does not and the directions I can go in.

Also, I love drawing and sketching so this is my favorite part of the process by far.

05

Color & Type

Choosing the correct colors can be a difficult task. But understanding the project is what makes this part of the design-making process easy. I choose certain colors to help designs stand out on their own compared to their competitors. Similar competitors may use similar colors so to stand out on their own I went with complete opposites of the other competitors

Font selection is a crucial part of making the design go from amateur to professional. Choosing the correct font can help communicate to the audience what needs to be said in the best way possible. So going about this, I decided to refer back to my research and concept part of the process to find words and phrases about the project to find a font. After looking at multiple fonts, I was able to find the one that would fit the best with the project

06

Review & Revision

Reviewing your work is something that is crucial in my process of work. I usually go back to every part of the design to make sure everything is coherent and makes sense to not only the client but also the consumers of the work too as well. Reviewing work can save not only me time but also everyone else who will be affected by this.

After completing most of the work and process I needed to reflect on what I have done to come here. I wanted to make sure I understood everything I did and made sure everything was the way I wanted. Also getting back feedback on anything in the process was something I needed to move forward. Now I can say I am 100% confident of the choices I made and the final design created.

07

Final Product

The final product is here! It is time to finally showcase my design in a beautiful package for the client to receive and enjoy. Also hopefully, come back to me for more design work because they will have trust in my process of creativity.
